Would Amy ever see him as anything other than a former Loyalist who destroyed her home?
One more building, one more road, one more disaster reconstructed.
But George Elliott remains trapped in the past, reliving his role in the destruction of Charles Town. Through the support of his family and two Patriot generals, he is allowed to pursue a life among them but struggles to find purpose. Forgiveness lurks but has not quite settled his unsteady heart.
Amy Engle strives to help the men who are alive but hurting through her work at the hospital. Some men fail to grasp God’s forgiveness and struggle to heal mentally from the brutality of war…George Elliott being one of them. She is making George her mission. Amy’s prayer is that God will give George purpose and confidence. What she didn’t count on was her heart’s commitment to the man.
With the devastation of war that left nothing unscathed, the people of Charles Town could use a dose of Christmas miracles. If there are any that remain after the devastation of war.
Can they determine in their hearts to find comfort in love, promises, and forgiveness?
Sandy on Amazon wrote:Wonderful Christmas story set in the late 1700s Charleston, SC. I'm always looking for Christmas reads this time of year. This one did not disappoint.
I loved this Novella by Marguerite Martin Gray. Marguerite never disappoints. It was another page turner for me. Didn’t want to put it down. Love love love her style of writing and the story of George and Amy was so very sweet. It completed the Revolutionary Series so very well. BUY THIS BOOK. YOU WILL LOVE IT.
Why didn't her life get the memo regarding Christmas being about peace on Earth and goodwill to men?
For the first Christmas in years, Kimberley Saint John may actually get that peace on Earth she's been dreaming of. Daddy has been sober for going on two years (a record), and if he stays that way, she might have a chance for a life of her own. Maybe even a family. And between you, her, and the fence post, she'd love it if that family included her childhood friend Jax Jenson and his kids.
Except he's still mourning the loss of his wife.
Jax doesn't understand why no one has snatched up sweet, beautiful, and funny Kim. Then again, the way she carries hurt and betrayal around like battle gear might have something to do with it. And he is not knight-in-shining-armor material. His wife could’ve told her that.
Kim’s dreams are shattered when Mama shows up, after a twenty-year absence, sending Kim into a tailspin of worry for her daddy. Desperate, she turns to the one man who gets her—Jax.
What will it take for Kim and Jax to untangle emotions that keep them from trusting in God's sovereignty and find purpose through the pain?
Many people live hurting lives from their past hurts and never receive healing of their emotional wounds. They usually become bitter but those who seek forgiveness and to forgive those hurt them become much happier people. I loved how healing and forgiveness were displayed in this story for several of the characters. I loved that this couple was able to developed love together after knowing each other and being friends. Great story. Talented author
