Slashed Canvas Release Fun

Yes, I was there at Louvre. Yes, there was a painting stolen. It wasn’t me! I promise!

Why was I there? I was there to support my friend Liz. Her book Slashed Canvas released and what better way to celebrate then to go to an amazing museum in France!

We walked through picture by picture and chatted about them. When we went by the Russian Princess we did stop for a long time because it was beautiful. It was like I was looking into the most knowing eyes.

But did I go back and take it? No way. After being out, about, and walking all day, I wanted a cup of coffee so badly I walked around the corner from our hotel to grab one. Jim came with me because he was concerned about me walking by myself.  We spent the evening talking and planning our next trip.

I started to yawn and when I checked my phone, it was almost 2am. It was long past time for us to go to sleep not to mention it was late to be out in another country.

You would not believe what happened on our way back.  I tripped over a stone, fell and twisted my ankle. As I was laying on the ground, debating how I was going to get up…I saw someone moving in the shadows.

Who is that and where are they going?

I asked Jim to help me up and as I steadied myself, I saw the street light illuminate the persons face.

Rebekah Jones.

That is who it was. Rebekah Jones.

Jim helped me back to our room and we iced my foot. He went down to ask the desk for extra towels and they kindly sent someone to check my foot.

So there. I had an alibi. A pretty good one if I do say so myself.

But…

If I were you, I would check with Rebekah. There was something gong on there.

More About Slashed Canvas

Held prisoner by all she’s lost, Katarina’s about to lose all she has.

Grand Duchess Katarina Volstova barely escaped the Russian revolution, arriving in Paris just before the birth of her twin daughters. With her heart still captive in her homeland, she haunts the Louvre each day, spending hours gazing at one painting, lost in her pain.

Not the man he once was, Timothy Smythe never returned home to England after the Great War. Instead, he hides himself away doing maintenance in the Louvre and watching the beautiful woman whose pain seems riveted on one painting.

When Katarina returns home to find her daughters and their nanny missing, the loss opens her eyes to all she has to lose now.

Frantic to find her girls, her distress causes Timothy to offer his assistance. Together they put together clues to a puzzle they must complete before the kidnapper ensures Katarina and her daughters are never reunited.

Slashed Canvas offers a retelling of The Lost Princess that mingles self-centered grief, spoiled little girls, and proof that nothing will stop a mother from saving her children.
